2011 NBA Playoffs Expected to be Historical...

I'm no prophet nor psychic but with entering the playoffs with names such as Lebron, DeWayne Wade, Chris Bosh, Ray Allen, RaJon Rando, Kevin Garnett, Paul Peirce, Derrick Rose, Luol Deng, Carlos Boozer, Melo Anthony, Amar'e Stoudemire, Chauncey Billups, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, Tim Duncan, Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Kidd, Jason Terry and of course; Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum, Lamar Odom and oh yeah, that one guy named Kobe Bryant; expect GREATNESS.  Those 25 names, the die-hard NBA fans know and will all be watching closely in the upcoming weeks.  The more flexible fan I'm guessing will still be keeping up with the powerhouse games,  how could you not?

I haven't been this eager for the NBA playoffs since Michael Jordan won the 1998 playoffs with a push off on Bryon Russell and then elevating (seems like for enternity) and draining a sweet shot to go up 88-87 winning the NBA Championship.  I expect the viewers will be shocked, angered, wow'd, intrigued and overall EXTREMELY ENTERTAINED with this year's upcoming playoffs.  There are so many match-ups and possible match-ups that it is improbable for anybody to predict a winner.  So I'll have to be bias and pull for my team the Miami Heat; (I was already a MIAMI HEAT fan before the addition of Lebron James and Chris Bosh, so I don't want any concerns about me being a bandwagon jumper.)  Can't say I'm not pulling for the Boston Celtics and not because it's my Wife's team; the chemistry on that team I believe was a type of role model for the other teams before they traded Kendrick Perkins.  Now I think they are lacking some chemistry and that's going to haunt them throughout the playoffs.  Miami Heat is young and are finding their chemistry but if they panic one time; the Heat will fall apart.  The only team I believe has it all together and have a great chance to get to the Finals would of course be the Chicago Bulls with Derrick Rose's tenacity and new found leadership.

To the West, didn't forget about the Dynasties in the Lakers and the Spurs.  The faces we've seen hold up the championship trophies multiple times, Kobe, Derrick Fisher and Tony Parker, Tim Duncan.  Sometimes I wonder if Kobe and the Lakers still maintain that HUNGER; the desire to win again.  But if I think I know Kobe's personality correctly he wants to be BETTER THAN JORDAN or atleast said to be AS GOOD AS.  That stands for another date & another debate.  The Spurs are so fundamental and set in there winning ways it's hard to say that they won't be in the NBA Finals at the end maybe even holding another trophy.  The Oklahoma City Thunder are a threat to not be underestimated. Kevin Durant averaging 27.9 points a game and 6.8 rebounds a game with Russell Westbrook resembling Thunder & lightening on the court they will surprise alot of people including themselves.

That is what's so intriguing about this years playoffs, we have no idea if Lebron & Wade, KG & Ray Allen, Tony Parker & Tim Duncan, Kobe & Pau Gasol, Kevin Durant & Russell Westbrook, or DERRICK ROSE is going to be holding the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy.  When it's all said and done I believe I would have watched and enjoyed the best NBA PLAYOFF SERIES in history.  So if you're a sports fan don't miss it NBA PLAYOFF starts Sunday, April 16th on TNT at 5:30 eastern.

  1. Babe, great read!!! I really enjoyed it!! Can't wait to watch the playoffs. This year is going to be crazy, I want to believe in my Green, but you're right, our Chemisty is off. We totally screwed ourselves with the trade, but lets see if our Playoff Veterans can use their experience to offset the lack of Chemistry! :)
