The Truth Shall Set You Free

Luke Fickell expected to be interim coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes for the 1st five games of this upcoming NCAA football season.  As of today with Jim Tressels resignation Fickell gained more responsibility & unexpectedly became interim coach for the season.

I assume the Buckeye's season will be interesting awaiting the end result from the resignation of the coach that lead them to 3 BCS National Championship Games.  In 2002, Tressel blazed a trail for OSU to a 14-0 record also winning a national title impressively.  His achievements at OSU will be remembered, accomplishing an overall record 106-22 with 7 Big Ten Conference championships.  I'm sure Michigan Wolverines' loyal fans are loving the departure of Tressel; falling to him 9 out of 10 times throughout his tenure.  A 6-4 bowl record with going 5-3 in BCS bowl games.

I was taught at a young age by a quote used by my Mother more than once, "the truth shall set you free."  I never really understood the full meaning but it helped me stay somewhat truthful.  If someone were to tell you "I never lie" then they would be lying.  Jim Tressel is human but this was a situation he should have been a little less human.  What also follows is, "what goes around comes around," and both quotes apply to Tressel's current situation.

5 OSU football players  trading championship rings, jerseys, etc. for tattoos also lead to Tressel ultimately resigning for covering it up.  Was it a father figure covering for his boys or was it a coach covering for his legacy?  If he would had just told the truth from the beginning he would be free of the allegations & would still be coaching this upcoming season.  The fact that he didn't later came back around to haunt him which resulted in people that respected Tressel to feel otherwise.

After 10 seasons of  caoching  OSU resulting in a 83% winning percentage, Tressel career in Ohio climatically ends in a lost.  A lost of respect, lost of a job, & a lost for words.

"What dirt you do in the dark will come to light"... Eventually.
